Target has accepted SNAP payment in our stores nationwide for years. And now, guests have the additional option to pay for SNAP-eligible grocery items on Target.com. Mobile payment options for digital orders on the Target app will also roll out soon.

“At Target, we aim to make our guests’ shopping easier by providing accessibility across all payment types,” says Gemma Kubat, Target’s president of financial and retail services. “Guests can now get their grocery shopping done on Target.com using SNAP benefits, sign up for additional perks and savings, and make trips extra convenient using our free, fast and contactless same-day services.”

Faster, easier savings

Adding to the ease, this new payment option makes it possible to get SNAP-eligible grocery items via our fast, contactless same-day services Order Pickup and Drive Up — no minimum fee or subscription required. And regardless of how you choose to pay, you’ll get additional savings by signing up free for Target Circle and shopping deals via the Target Weekly Ad.

“Food and beverage is an incredibly important part of our guests’ lives, especially as we head into the holiday season,” says Rick Gomez, Target’s chief food and beverage officer. “I’m proud that we’re adding new digital payment options for grocery shopping so we can make the entire Target experience more accessible to all families.”

Here’s how to place an order

It’s simple. First, create or sign into your Target.com account on a web browser so you can start an online order. Then:

Add an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) account number as a new card under “Payments.”
Build a cart with SNAP-eligible items and check out.
Select EBT as the payment method and enter your PIN number to confirm the order.
